Sunday or Sonday?

When you think of a Sunday, the first thing that comes to your mind is either the playing grounds, no schools, no restriction on watching television or the talks with your family discussing the whole week in a nutshell. If it is the latter one, you are from middle-east Asia and this blog is just the right one for you. It is a common belief in India that Sundays are a time to catch up with family and strengthen the bond of a father-son, mother-son and siblings. However, the recent past times have brought a decline in this culture. The importance of work has outdone the integrity of the family. The mood freshener that friends act as, has superiorized the weekly discussions with fathers. Defying the rules and beliefs of our Indian culture, our civilization has taken a step backwards.

'Sonday' has transformed into Sunday.

According to me, a public holiday on Sunday was a concept for this very reason, so that one can discuss the problems, the issues and the barriers that hinder the growth of someone. Family is the best remedy to situations, solutions of which, are put of reach of an individual. Many a man argues that a Sunday is for rest. Yes, truly, the day is made for rest. But, rest does not mean sleep only. Rest is a term, meaningly different for all. Rest can also be lying on your bed but still talking to other people at home. Surprisingly, this has come to be considered as the very reason for Sundays  time waste

Especially in a time, when grief has overruled even the existence of joys, the glimmer of happiness is in the quality time with the family. The madness of being rolled over in arguments and the cracking of humorous jokes will be missed surely if this tradition is lost amidst the new workaholic nature of people. It will be a huge loss to endure if this practice gets ousted from the minds of youngsters who are shaping the world into a technically, culturally and traditionally new life space.

There are some children who want to spend time with families but their fathers and mothers are just not of the same thoughtfulness. This piece of writing is a request as well as wake up call for all to let themselves be aware of what is happening in the minds of their little ones.
